Rebecca Horne’s photographs are concerned with invisible ecologies, a natural history of intimate spaces. The materials Horne uses in her work, salt, sugar, molasses and paper are meant to be simultaneously evocative of raw, organic relationships and those that have their origin in a private or domestic sphere. Horne is continuously looking for collusions between interior and exterior worlds. Landscape is important in her work, as a kind of personal geography. The events that occur in these landscapes can be seen as phenomenological events of the everyday.
